Recession Menu

The economy sucks move

Intro to my photo essay

I want to use this blog as an outlet for my photos documenting a recession.
I sometimes wondered when learning in high school history class, what it would be like if our county was in war. I soon learned after 9/11 that your everyday life was pretty similiar, yet depressing numbers kept showing up in the daily newspaper. There is an anxiousness between people and their view on the subject and deep concern for friends and family abroad on the frontlines.

Although that is a subject for another blog, I also wondered about the Great Depression after seeing pictures of food ration lines and distraught stockbrokers. This one hits closer to home as I see my family and friends struggling with getting work. I noticed other more unexpected things happening like "Recession Happy Hour" and how advertisers are changing their outlooks. I hope to document these happenings through photos I will be taking with my 2004 3.7 megapixel Olympus camera (times are tough!) I dont pretend to be a professional photographer. I can't guarantee every photo will be in focus, and I probably will not be able to use any tricks with depth of field. All I can provide is a laymans view of the recession with a 5 year old digital camera.
